What is the rough opening? The R.O. is the surrounding measurements inside the door frame from beam to beam for width and header down to the concrete for the height.
How do I measure my rough opening? We recommend that you use a bonded and insured contractor. Mistakes in measurement can be costly and time consuming. (width x height = "rough opening")
What is a jamb? A jamb is what surrounds the door. The width is determined by wood thickness and 5/8" for the sheetrock of the doorway width.. Most doors are framed with either 2"x4" or 2"x6" pieces of lumber. This is why the most popular jamb widths are 4-5/8" and 6-5/8".
What does prehung mean? It means the slab has been mounted into the jamb. Hinges are applied, and the door is bored  for door hardware. The unit will arrive ready for professional installation.
What is a slab? A slab refers to a door by itself without a jamb or hardware.
What about shipping? Shipping is not included. The doors are professionally crated and shipped insured collect. We extend our volume shipping discounts to you to make it cost effective. The cost varies depending on the weight, size and distance.
What does the finish do? A finish serves several purposes. Aside from the aesthetic beauty it also protects the wood from the elements. It also ensures a longer lifespan for your door. It consists of a tedious process of applying putty, sanding, and staining. We then apply several coats of sealer and varnish with light sanding between each coat to ensure it standing up to the elements.
What about Locksets? Locksets are not included with the door. Your local hardware stores carry a wonderful selection that allows you to be certain if you like the feel and function before you buy it. We also can make custom designed handles. Baldwin and Emtek are recomended products.

What is Transom? It is a window above a door which can vary in size and shape and styles.
What is Caming? It is a metal separator used to hold pieces of decorative glass together. It typically comes in brass, pewter, and black (or patina).
